Norton Financial Selects Nancy Doble to Lead Newly Formed TPA Services Division

Financial services company becomes first in Maine to bundle advisory services with compliance testing and reporting services for defined contribution plans.

Cumberland, ME – Norton Financial, a division of Norton Insurance • Financial, announced today that they have hired Nancy Doble to lead their newly formed Third Party Administrator (TPA) services division. Nancy has more than 25 years of experience with defined contribution retirement plans, such as 401(k) and 403(b) plans. In her capacity as Vice President of Downeast Pension Services, Inc. for 14 years, she developed a broad-based knowledge of the legal, financial, regulatory and compliance issues associated with retirement plans. A resident of Pownal, Nancy most recently served as a TPA for Penobscot Pension Services, Inc. in Rockport, Maine.

“Nancy is an incredible asset to our team,” said Peter Fendler, President of Norton Financial. “Having her TPA expertise in-house enhances Norton’s retirement plan design process, further expands our retirement plan consulting capabilities, and streamlines our client communication processes.”

By bringing TPA services in-house, Norton Financial moves further towards a business consultation model that provides clients greater freedom in the selection of their retirement plan platform and administrative structure. Frequently, employer sponsored retirement plans are comprised of three separate components delivered by separate entities: the financial advisor, the investment vendor and the TPA service. Norton’s new model packages financial advice with TPA services allowing clients the freedom to select the platform that best suit their company’s needs and to obtain expert compliance advice at the front-end of the process.

“I’m very excited to be working with Norton Financial,” says Nancy Doble. “As financial advisors, the Norton team works as consultants for their clients helping them select the best investment platforms and TPA services. Now with a TPA department in-house, Norton is able to provide full-service plan design and execution as well as compliance testing and reporting.”
